Each month/season, we feature a farm product that is produced in a manner endorsed by the AYERSfoundation and one which we would like to promote and use as an educational piece. All profit from the sale of this product supports the work of our foundation.
Inherent in its mission, AYERSfoundation aspires to connect innovative, hardworking agricultural producers—those who follow the logic of nature —with caring, values-driven customers. Chefs and others who purchase these goods are supporting a charitable cause because they believe in the the power of education in helping transform our food-based economy. By serving featured products, they provide their customers or themselves with a high quality dining experience and invaluable information.
In effect, there is a nexus that makes the consumers of greater Westerly and eastern Connecticut members of a much larger community growing the seeds of change. Everybody in this supply chain, consumers included, is helping to deliver a public good and diminishing the occurrence of public bads (externalities like environmental degradation, dietary illnesses, inhumane treatment of animals, etc.)
